What a day in Boston!

Sunday, March 14th, 2010

Yesterday, I went down to Boston and stopped by the Berklee High school Jazz Festival. I went to the 3rd Level and stopped by the Rayburns and JodyJazz Mouthpieces tables. I had such a blast trying Jody Espinas mouthpieces out! They are true masterpieces and I love them! Next I went over to the Rayburns table, which had a wealth of different mouthpieces and a few Selmers horns (alto/tenor). I only had my alto so I tried the Selmer Reference 54, although it was not as good as my Keilwerth.

Later, I go down to Rayburns, planning to try out horns. We get there and Emilio, the legendary repairman as many people as well as my self know, tell ms Kenny Garrett was in the back practicing. Luck takes hold and I get to hear him playing warm up excerpts, some standards, and various scales, how cool was that! Lucky me I got his autograph and got to talk with him a bit. A day in Boston, like no other day!!!
