David Milazzo
Instruments: Soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone saxophones; clarinet; piano, organ.
David has been playing sax since he was nine years old. He started playing and performing with the Windham Swing Band at age 11, played with the Dartmouth College Barbary Coast Jazz Ensemble, and performed with many area musicians as a soloist and accompanist. Other musical experiences include participation in the NHMEA “Solo and Ensemble” in grades six, seven, eight, and nine scoring “A”s at the highest level; first clarinet at age 12 in the NHMEA Middle School Festival; and two years at Jamey Aebersold’s Jazz Camp. In 2008 he was accepted into the North Carolina School of the Arts Summer Program and was taught by sax legend Taimur Sillivan and sax teacher Joey Trahan. He as also recorded and played on several CD’s and has been featured on radio programs.
David has performed with Richie Cole, Cercie Miller, Ted Casher, Greg Abate, and many others. He is a regular performer at the Acton Jazz Club and other clubs in the Boston area. He has started working with Mike Caglianone at the 7Awest recording studio in Boston.
In May 2009 David was awarded a full tuition scholarship to the five-week summer program at Berklee College. He was one of only 20 out a more than 1500 worldwide to receive this scholarship which is awarded based solely on an audition.

He has studied with Lida Baker,Todd Hildreth, Art Matthews and Mark Frazier. Currently, he studies clarinet and flute with Don Goldstone and saxophone with Mike Caglianone. David enjoys all forms of music; rifle and pistol shooting and muzzle loading competitions; and creating computer programs.
